Bali, also referred to as the island of Gods, has unexpectedly become my second home this past year.
I’ve been visiting this beautiful island since I was young. Lucky for me, I was born in Indonesia and I speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently. Thanks to that, I am able to understand some cultures and nuances in a way that foreigners can’t. So, I want to bridge that cultural gap and impart all the knowledge I’ve accumulated about Bali! Keep on reading!

Bali Seasons
November - March
Sea can be choppy (important to consider if you are planning to take any boat trips)
January and December
Are two months that receive the highest amount of rainfall.
April - October July and August
Are the hottest months and often receive the most sunshine. They are also the most busiest months as t
hey fall in between school holidays so crowds are expected.
May- June
Hottest months in Bali with perfect weather conditions. Not quite in the high season yet so crowds are not expected.
September - October
September is still very dry with hot temperatures but the crowds begin to disappear and the island becomes quieter. October is the beginning of the wet season and rainfall starts to increase. For 24 hours, lights are off, transportation is off as well as any other activities. All businesses are also closed A lot of people avoid coming during this time as it can disrupt their travel plans as everything completely shuts off. Even planes cannot land on the island! I think it’s a pretty special time to visit and such an amazing thing to say that you have been a part of Nyepi! It’s a way for Balinese people to celebrate the New Year by cleansing the island from the previous years sins and misdoings Locals spend time at home meditating and praying with family.
